Ways to fund your physiotherapy

DVA · Medicare · Support at Home · CHSP · Private

There are several ways older adults can access our physiotherapy — you don’t always pay out of pocket. We’re happy to talk through what you may be eligible for.

For individuals & families

Funding options

DVA (Veterans’ Affairs)

If you hold a Veteran Card, physiotherapy in your home may be fully covered with a referral from your GP. We bill DVA directly.

Medicare (chronic conditions)

If you live with an ongoing health condition, your GP may prepare a care plan that subsidises a number of physiotherapy visits each year under Medicare.

Support at Home

We partner with Support at Home providers to deliver physiotherapy under your package — including short-term, goal-focused care through the Restorative Care Pathway.

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

For entry-level support, we provide physiotherapy that keeps you active and independent for longer.

Private

You’re welcome to engage us privately, with no referral needed. Ask us about current fees.

Funding rules are set by government programs and can change; we’ll always confirm the current details for your situation. For program information, see myagedcare.gov.au, dva.gov.au and servicesaustralia.gov.au.

Common questions

Does DVA cover physiotherapy at home?

If you hold a Veteran Card, physiotherapy in your home may be fully covered with a referral from your GP. We bill DVA directly, so there’s nothing to claim back.

Can Medicare help pay for physiotherapy for an ongoing condition?

If you live with an ongoing health condition, your GP may prepare a chronic condition care plan that subsidises a number of physiotherapy visits each year under Medicare. Ask your GP whether a care plan suits your situation.

Can I use my Support at Home or CHSP funding for physiotherapy?

Yes — we partner with Support at Home providers to deliver physiotherapy under your package (including the Restorative Care Pathway), and provide physiotherapy through CHSP providers.

Do I need a referral for private physiotherapy?

No referral is needed. You’re welcome to engage us directly — ask us about current fees.
