Why Elderhood Enabled?

Our philosophy & the person behind the practice
Our philosophy

Later life is a chapter to be lived well

At Elderhood Enabled we see later life as a meaningful stage in its own right — not a decline to be managed, but a chapter to be lived well. Our care is built on compassion, respect and genuine partnership. We take the time to understand the person behind the referral: your history, your priorities and the things that make a good day. Every plan is shaped around your goals, your home and your sense of who you are.

When changes to thinking or memory are part of the picture, we understand what many miss: distress is communication. Changes in behaviour are usually an expression of stress or an unmet need — and care works better when we listen for what’s being said.

Clinical lead

Steven Davis MACP — APA Titled Gerontological Physiotherapist

Formally recognised by the Australian College of Physiotherapists for a highly developed level of skill, clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in the physiotherapy of older adults — a credential earned through postgraduate study and College-assessed clinical practice.

Steve is a physiotherapist focused on enhancing independence and quality of life for older adults in the community. His practice is built on genuinely understanding the person behind the diagnosis — the life experiences and preferences that make each person who they are — so that every intervention is meaningful, effective and truly person-centred.

Qualifications & recognition

Compliance & professional requirements

Elderhood Enabled maintains the professional and industry requirements expected of providers working with older adults: AHPRA registration, professional indemnity and public liability insurance, a current National Police Check and Working With Children Check, current First Aid and CPR (HLTAID011), and ongoing professional development — including Older Person’s Mental Health First Aid.

“Titled” is a credential of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Australian College of Physiotherapists recognising a highly developed level of skill, clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in a field. It is not an AHPRA specialist registration — physiotherapy has no registered specialties in Australia.

Don’t just age — enable your elderhood.
